PROGRAMME OF MONTHLY CLUB WALKS

Les Tranter invites you  accompany him on the regular Club Walk in the New Forest, normally on the third Tuesday of the month. The walks will be  approximately 4-5 miles in length, commencing at 10.30am and last two hours. Lunch will not be organised but some may wish to visit a local hostelry or even to picnic near the car park.

Details of each walk will be published at the monthly Probus meeting and on this web site. Note that walks are not dependent on weather and stout footware, preferably walking boots, should be worn, as the ground will on occasion be uneven and possibly wet.
Events
Our next walk will take place on Tuesday 17th August. It will start from the Longslade Heath car park (near Wilverly Plane) Grid Ref SU 258 007.

The walk is approximately 5 miles and crosses Longslade Bottom and Horseshoe Bottom where ponies tend to congregate, South Weirs, White Moor, Five Thorns Hill, Hincheslea Wood and then back to the start.

If travelling from New Milton take the minor road northeast from the Rising Sun pub outside Bashley, cross Wootton Bridge and at the T junction turn right onto Burley Road.  Follow this road for 1.75 miles, where the road splits bear right for 150 yards and at the T junction turn right.  The car park will be found 200 yards on the left. For clarity, and in case I have its name wrong, it is the first car-park.

As usual we will depart at 10.30pm.  Please advise Les Tranter of your intention to walk.
